Get Fit, Franklin County is a movement; a call to action to get moving!

According to the 2018-2019 Community Health Needs Assessment, only 20% of our County’s residents reported having exercised for 30 minutes, 5 days per week. Our goal is to increase that number.

We encourage all community members to adopt more active lifestyles for healthier lives. Any increase in physical activity is a step towards a healthier you!


Move at least 150 minutes every week


Youth 6 to 17 years should get at least 60 minutes of activity every day

The Move Your Way Campaign is all about finding ways to move that work for you. This page provides activity resources for specific groups, including older adults, people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, and those with disabilities.

Looking for a program to help you jump start a more active lifestyle? Join the Get Fit Now program! Using a combination of Fit Bit technology and supportive group sessions, learn strategies to help you improve your health. This program is offered in both Chambersburg and Waynesboro. The Healthy Franklin County Physical Activity Taskforce has created a guide to physical activity that features tips, resources and supports to help you get moving! It's not easy to change behavior, but we're here to help you get started.

Many adults spend half their waking hours at work. Regardless of size, resources, setting, and type, all worksites can play a big role in supporting employees to increase physical activity during the workday to feel their best. This page houses resources for worksites with ideas on how to implement and measure policies and initiatives that support increased physical activity and overall wellness.
